Gift wrap papers that feel and look stunning…they’ll enhance any gift.
We like Paperhigh’s ethos because even though their papers are shipped great distances, Paperhigh are a Fair Trade Company and are proud of their ethical values.
The company was founded in 2001 when the founders had an unexpected stay in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Every single sheet of paper is UNIQUE because of the way that it is produced.
Take for example their range of Indian Khadda papers. These papers are made not by using wood or wood pulp but it is made from Khadda, which are unbleached cotton rags left over from the garment industry.
After the cotton pulp is placed into the mould various different additions are added to the paper from petals, grasses, leafs and silk threads, ensuring that every sheet is a unique work of art.
Paperhigh’s beautiful Nepalese Lokta papers are a pleasure to use.
These papers are hand made from the bark of the Lokta, or Daphne Papyracea, which is a shrub that grows in the forests, under the shade of the larger plants, in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Because the lokta is self regenerating native bast fibre and is abundant in supply, this preserves the fragile ecology of Nepal as well as giving continued work to the many mountain villages who make their living by making the raw paper.
The process of making these papers is long and uses traditional techniques and craftsmen to produce a paper that is still used for the preparation of legal documents.
So if you really need to impress with your gift, if you want to demonstrate the effort and care taken in your presentation then any of the Paperhigh papers will not make your gift look amazing, feel amazing but it will transform any gift into a memorable statement.
We thank Paperhigh for their designs, their eye for beautiful papers and for their ethos.
